Marvel cancels ‘Ant-Man 4’, ‘Captain Marvel 3’ and ‘Eternals 2’
Daniel Richtman, one of the reliable sources in the industry, said that Marvel had shelved the upcoming sequels of Ant-Man 4, Captain Marvel 3, and Eternals 2. While the cancellation decision was made directly at the request of Disney CEO Bob Iger, it is also stated that there are minor differences of opinion between Marvel and Disney at this point.
Allegedly, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige does not oppose the cancellation of Ant-Man 4 and Captain Marvel 3 but wants Eternals 2 not to be canceled and the development process to continue. Despite all this, Disney CEO Bob Iger decides to shelve the relevant films.
As we all guessed, the main reason behind Disney’s decision to cancel three sequels is box office concerns. Considering Marvel’s performance after 2019, all of its films released except Spider-Man were below expectations.
